CB Radio Help please
Ok so i bought a cobra CB radio. The power wires and base wires have fuses in them. I want to run the power to my fuse box, however I do not know where to put the end of the wires. One wire is a pink/red color, one is orange, and on is black. I know the black is the grounding wire, but I dont know which slot to put them in and I dont know if I need something to go on the end of the wires to go into the fuse box. Thanks for your help, JFLINNO

CB Radio Help please.
I have a 2001 ford ranger xlt. I bought a Cobra CB radio. There are three wires, one pink/redish, one orange, and one black. The wires all have fuses. Where do I put the red and orange wires into my fuse box? Do i need to by an attachment to put them in my fuse box? do i have to take the fuse box out? Thanks for your help. JFLINNO

Black goes to a ground point. Red goes to a power source that comes on and off with the key. Orange goes to a constant power source. You can get little doohickies that let you clip onto the blade of a fuse.

i run Cb's in all my trucks and i go straight to the batt. just remember to turn it off. you can go through the fuse block but you might pick up a lot of static engine noise both RX and TX. Remember to check the swr's and grounding is your friend..

Re: CB Radio Help please
just wire the two yellow and red i believe to the battery and the black just screw in to some where it can get ground. they should be fused behind the radio, if you want to get fancy you can tie in to a keyed ground for the power wires, the middle wire is just a always hot wire so it will save you station you where on. is it a cobra 18? if so the noaa channels are awesome, what is the rest of the cb setup?

Re: CB Radio Help please.
If you want it powered all the time, and you can remember to turn it off, you would tie the orange and red together when connecting to power.
If you want the switched on/off power as I described, I suggested fuse 23 for the orange and Fuse 10 for the red.
You may or may not get electrical interference connecting to the fuse panel. I would try it first due to simplicity. If its noisy, try the battery. But understand not all noise can be removed and you might be SOL. Running to the battery does NOT, I say again does NOT eliminate all noise that you can pick up. That is a myth. Much like the fictional "optimum 18ft of coax" BS.

Re: CB Radio Help please
If I remember correctly, there are special blade terminals that you crimp onto the end of the two power wires that allow the terminal to piggy back off of one of the fuses. But I'm not sure if that's the jerry rigged way or the way of choice.

A keyed ground??
I'll copy and paste my response from the other thread you started on this for some reason.
Black goes to a ground point. Red goes to a power source that comes on and off with the key. Orange goes to a constant power source. You can get little doohickies that let you clip onto the blade of a fuse.

If you want the switched on/off power as I described, I suggested fuse 23 for the orange and Fuse 10 for the red. Otherwise put both red and orange to fuse 23.
