Default 2011 Factory Radio Replacement?

Hello,

I just bought a 2011 Ranger. Love the truck, hate the radio. The display is garbage, it gives very little information and I can't see it with sun glasses on. And I need Bluetooth, which Ford doesn't offer in the Ranger. I would like to replace it with something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg (well...maybe just an arm ). I need the following features:

Bluetooth
CD/MP3 Player
AM/FM
Sirius/XM (using the stock Sirius antenna)
iPod input

I have been looking around on the forum and on Amazon, etc., but I don't know what will fit the Ranger. I've seen reference to a Kenwood model that would need add-ons for Bluetooth and Sirius. Where would these go? Do they mount in the radio or somewhere in the dash?

Also, would this type of receiver be difficult to install or is it pretty much a direct replacement?

From reading this forum, I can tell that there are some knowledgeable people here, so I'm hoping to draw on some of your experience to help me make an informed decision.

Thank you in advance for any help.

any single din radio will fit just fine with a adapter kit. if you order from cruchfeild they give you all required materials and a detailed instruction sheet on how to install the radio to your truck specifically. so find one you like on their website and you should be set.

If you find out how to use the stock Sirius antenna let me know, I would love to be able to plug and play without cutting anything for Sirius. I hate to have a factory black bump on the roof and have to add another one. As far as head units. do your homework. I went with a Kenwood Excelon unit due to the fact it has USB and Ipod hook ups and 4 volt Pre-outs as well. To each their own.

You can reuse the Sirius antenna and cable with aftermarket radios. No mods needed. Mine worked fine on a Kenwood DNX5120

Yup...did the homework and the Kenwood looks like it will work. Thanks.

Hi -- I just talked to the Crutchfield rep (I'm a big Cf fan from the 1980s!), and he said that the receivers would all require the separate satellite hookup on the roof.

I'm driving a 2011 XL regular cab, with factory-installed radio. I would love to know if someone installed a Cf-sold Sirius-compatible radio and was still able to use the existing antenna.

Thanks, and this is my first post so please excuse any foolish statements....
