Default Need Some Opinions.. Upgrade or Install Sub?

I currently have a stock system in my 2006, single cab XL. Im looking for the best bang for my buck. I want a little "thump" if I can manage to get it in my truck. Would I be better off by upgrading all of the stock speakers, or should I install a truck box with a couple 8 or 10 inch subs? Im not very experienced in this area and haven't dealt with any of this before.

A happy median i think would be to put a single sub amp combo in the back and a small amp for the speakers... just a suggestion

I second that. Any other setup for a few hundred bucks will sound pretty week.

With the bass link all you have to do is hook up power, ground and remote wire. For signal it should come with a harness or pigtails that tap your rear speaker wires.

Thanks for everyones help. I decided to go with the 10" Kicker bass station due to availability and size. The shop I got it from charged me practically nothing to install it and did a really great job. I didnt have enough experience to install it myself. Another interesting thing, apparently XL Ford Rangers do not come equipped with factory rear speakers? So with the little bit of money I had left, they agreed to move my stock door speakers to the rear and install Kicker 6x9 speakers in my door for a cut price. I also got a Kenwood KDC-348U. This system sounds amazing now and has a lot of the "thump" I was wanting. Even though I didnt go with the Bass-Link, thanks for introducing me to the concept. Until then I wasnt aware you could get a sub/amp combo in a small package.
