Default Speaker Help?

i have an 03 xlt extended cab, iv been told that the factory speakers can be directly replaces with 6x9's? is this accurate? i recently replaced my head unit with a 50w x 4 Pioneer Unit and want to upgrade the overall sound, would it be best to replace the speakers or are aftermarket ones not going to improve sound quality

No. 6x8's or 5x7's will work. They're both the same overall size. Also, if you make adapters you can run 5 1/4" or 6 1/2" speakers and then mount the tweeters to the door panel.

Its actually 6x8 or 5x7.. not 6x9. Go with 6x8 they fir good and sound just as good as 6x9. Yes aftermarket will make it sound better your gonna get more highs and better lows.

hey guys thanks for advice, i bought 4 5x7" BOSS speakers with 2 built in tweeters on each, which makes them 3 ways?. but anyhow they sound great compared to the factory 25w. When i removed the factory ones i clipped the harness with about 2" of wire still on the plug into factory speakers, if i ever i want to change them back when i sell the truck or what not.

thanks for good advice.
