Just for reference..... the new one is in the truck, and the one on the bottom is the old one


Anyways, new head unit arrived from pooleo, so I put it in right after I got it. All audio functions worked (FM, CD, Tape, Clock)

So, I was happy.

Cut my headlights on, and no light from the radio. The clock dimmed, but nothing else

anyone know whats up??

took radio out and checked harness, removed faceplate and checked connection there. Nothing.


Some other interesting things....

With no key in the ignition-

- if you cut the lights on, the clock displays.
- Pressing either eject button will eject whatever media is in the unit
-Pressing the clock button will get the clock to display


Old headunit didnt do this...

Please someone! Help me!

My 6disc ejects and loads cds with no key in and tells me the time when I press clock..Not sure about the headlight thing though

i figured that was just a feature of the radio, but....


Also, the Cluster, Fog Light Switch, and HVAC all light up.

thats all normal. i had one of those for a while and it did the same thing. it just does. when the headlights are on, but the trucks not, the clock pops up, and when everything is on, the headights, the radio dims as it all lights up, not just the clock.

alright, just hopped in the truck, cranked it up, cut on the lights, and nothing from the radio......

what fuse could it be? the cluster, HVAC, and fog switch all light up?

I have the exact opposite problem, my display wont light up and all the other buttons and such light up, all my hvac and cluster light up, but you cant see the display face on the radio, even with lights off, is there a way to take the radio apart and see whats wrong, its the cd cassett one.
