Have you looked up the sub at Crutchfield? If they carry it, you'll most likely find any technical info about that you'd want to know.

I read the first couple of pages and got tired . . so if i say something that has been said my bad. . i've got a 10" sub in a ported box . . but i have a ex. cab. . . ported boxes are the best it lets the sub move more a sealed box does let the sub move as much BUT it hits quicker . . kinda like someone said it depends on the music . . but the settings on the amp can change alot of that. . in your truck a would do a sealed box thats wide at the bottum and narrow at the top (i've heard them called a truck box) with this style you'll be able to fit it fine behind your seat BUT you HAVE to get a shallow sub or it wont fit in the box because it will be too deep. . . dont do 8in subs

you dont have to use a shallow mount sub. Just dont use a sub with a large mounting depth. But if you do use a shallow mount sub the sub will have more air which in return will be better
