MTX subs are usually pretty decent, but the sticker price is absolutely out of this world. I say build a custom box! It may take a little while or a few tries but it's a good learning experience and a whole lot cheaper!

And smsranger I was talking to orgnlmrwiggles.

LOL, not a damn thing Sony in my system! I'm not a fan of Sony.

My system is: Kenwood head unit, 4 polk speakers, MTX amp and MTX 10" sub.

O, believe me, I wouldn't say I'm a fan either. I have the sony head unit, but have never reccomended it to anyone, and don't plan on it. The sound output on it is pretty poor. The aux cable is nice, and the red lights look nice. I got it as a gift, so, no harm done.

I think you're talking about Johnbaum13's?
If so, I'm not a big fan of sony, however they do make good stuff, and infinity pioneer and kicker all make some of the best audio equipment available today, and have great equipment for the most common price range of consumers. What audio company do you prefer?
~I was talking to buddy.
i hate infinity subs, the kappas are the only speakers i like from them, but they sound to glassy or "bright" for me.
when it comes to kicker subs, they sound shitty when you have them in the same compartment, IE, in your ranger cabin. The reason is the quality is not that great, and you hear non stop pinging and slapping of the actually subwoofer instead of hearing the bass only.

for subwoofers, i prefer the jl audio w1, w3, w6, and w7, the w0 sounds like many of the kickers, with the exception of the L7 and the L5.
For headunits, i really like the higher end pioneers, the amount of settings to get your stereo accurate and sounding right are nuts. althought, most of the lower pioneer units really are shit too.
The kenwood excelon headunits are nice along with clarion, and eclipse units. I really do like the kicker amps, but they are a little more toward the SPL, instead of the SQL, which is what i go for.
for amplifiers, id reccomend JL audio Amplifiers, or JL's entry line, "TMA"
some of the best speakers ive ever heard for highs were the JL audio Component sets, not the coaxials, cuz the coaxials have horrible mids. my excelon's mids sound better than any JL audio coaxials.
When it comes to mids, id recommend the kenwood excelon coaxials or comps.
If you want both, the best i have ever heard were these speakers called hertz speakers, which i would say get the comps.

rockford fosgate makes some very good entry level and higher end products but more expensive.

and one last thing on speakers, you kind of need an amplifier that matches up with the RMS rating or slightly higher than your amplifier, or else your speakers will have bad quality and slight distortion from not having enough "clean" power going to the speakers.

An example; if you have a HU that sends 50watts x 4 (max watt), each speakers is actually only seeing 22 watts rms. and out of this 22watts, the speakers only see about 5 watts that are clean, so when you turn your stereo and speakers up, they distort more at the higher volumes. if you have a good HU, you might be able to see 10 watt that are clean.

any more questions?

i want my bigger box back tho, but i need leg room.

for you sms, id recommend getting all your audio equipment online. you can get some good pioneer 6x8 coaxials for under $100, or some excelons for probably around there or a bit more (for 2). subs, id highly reccomend the w1's cuz there little to no pingy-ness, and it it one of the smallest subs.

^to tell you the truth I don't know, the website doesn't give enough information about the products to know if it's a good match or not.

As twisted said, and I said before, There's just not enough info on the product to make a fully informed statement, but since you're not going for high end quality sound, it'll work.

Rms (continous) watts

They list peak, which doesn't mean anything at all.

Ok i have a quick and dirty for ya
Audiobahn ATB10AT 10" subwoofer enclosure with 100-watt amplifier
and it mounts between the seats IF you hack out the center of the seats I will post a pic of mytruck in a bit. Still drinking coffee. I had a 60/40 frount seat i took out the drivers side removed the "60" part with a sawall and a razor knife. retucked the fabrick and bolted it back in the sub sits perfectly between the seats I use it as a arm rest and leave the factory one up .. it was to high any way for me. will post a pic a bit later and YES this will make your lil truck go BOOM! rammstein du hast will shake the mirrors.

+1. That figure is pretty much useless.
