Question Amping door speakers

Alright first thing is first, i appologize for the long post. But lets get to it, ok i want to amp my door speakers in order to get a bit more out of them. I have alpine type s 5x7s front and rear which sound great with my kenwood headunit. But i want to add a sony xplod 600w 4 channel amp. But i dont know exactly how to hook it all up. I have had a sub hooked up to this HU in my last car. Is it the exact same? The amp has 2 rca inputs for the front and back but the HU only has 1 rca output? Y cable i assume? And on the stereo inorder to get the rcas to work it was a subwoofer on/off option do i just turn it on even though its going to door speakers?

Headunit:
http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entert...ment/KDC-MP235
(and no offence but i dont wanna hear kenwood is crap or its out of date. I love it.)

Amplifier:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...M-GTX6040.html
(got this next to brand new for only 50 bucks)

Speakers:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...e-SPS-507.html
(got 4 of them for 40$ i couldnt say no)

The headunit and speakers are already in my truck and they sound good. Maybe a step by step directions with pics of how to add the amp?

Thanks a ton in advance.

you hook the wires running from the head unit to the speakers into the amp then run wire from the amp to the speakers

Wrong, wrong, and wrong again. To amp door speakers you have to do this...

1. Run a power wire from the battery to the amp
2. Run a ground wire from the amp to a secure grounding location
3. Run a remote turn on wire from the headunit to the amp
4. Run RCA's from the headunit to the amp
5. Run speaker wire from the amp to the door speakers

This is somewhat right. Only thing I don't agree with is that the stock doors sound good amped. If you have any sort of power(30w+) running to them they'll distort like hell. My advice to you OP, sell your headunit and find one that has at LEAST 2 sets of RCA outputs.

That is exactly what that diagram shows that I first posted.
I would also suggest a head unit with 2 RCA outputs. Also Like Tyler said. remove the factory speakers and get a good quality speaker.

I have the alpines in all four. And i really dont want to get rid of this head unit. I love it. Its not too complicated and it has just enough features. Ok, knowing what i know now, would it be better to amp the front or tge rear door speakers? I assume the fronts.

with that amp if you wanted you could run your front and rear speaker wiring from the HU to the amps high level inputs then run from the amps output to the speakers and this still leaves your rcas open.

I don't know about your HU but most i've seen allow you to select what range of sound is coming out RCA whether highs or lows have to check

Yeah i think i got it figured out. It does have an option to switch the rcas to rear outs as opposed to sub outs. And im gunna use y splitters cuz the guys at the audio shop said this would work i just cant fade which im not worried about cuz i keep it all centered.

If it will work do it. But I would recommend for your setup running high level inputs(speaker power) to the amps high level input this way you keep your fade and balance control and still have your RCA available for a sub or some other piece of equipment

Your choice just my opinion

If you have subs already you can run the high mids amp off of that amp..and you get a RCA Y spliter.

No sub currently, and no plans for a sub. Just not enough room in my tiny little cab.
