holds it an charges it through the 12v, then i have the audio cable going to the head unit...

the holder is also an fm transmitter but i use the separate audio cable for better sound quality

Well I don't havae an ashtray cause I don't smoke. And I took it out when I installed my explorer console. And I bought this for mine.

Ipod windshield mount.

If your radio is worth its salt, you wont need a "window mount" or "docking station"... it will have a connection somewhere descreet and not in the way.

My stereo has the port in the back, you buy the extra cable that plugs in, I ran it to the glovebox...it's been there for three years. Works great

My pioneer had a 3mm docking port.
So I concealed a hidden line from that port
To one that I located on the floor of my console that i plug my
iPod /iPhone 4G to
Works great and
"look Ma ,no wires"
