its a Sony CDX-GT55UIW ( advanced sound engine). I am going to pull my older (ugly) Xplod out and install this one when i get the time.

yeah bro!! me too. I just need to find the time to install it. I have the kit and wires, installed in the radio i have in my truck now, the same wires will work for this. Can't wait to get it in, my radio now lights up red, i want it to be blue, taht way my dome light AND radio light up blue.

Cool stuff man! That will look sweeet to have both your radio and dome light shining blue. I think that is one of the coolest colors you can put in a vehicle!

haha yea. i was driving home tonight and every now and then, i turned my dome on, and my cab lit up blue, i had one car try to run up on me, prob. saw my light and thought i was a ricer,haha

ha. My friends dad sold his Ford Super Duty (F-350- I think) and got a chevy colorado. haha. Im like, why? I saw the interior, very nice, and big tires. haha, thats it

Yeah, the colorados, do have nice interiors, and good sized tires, but other than that, they don't have much going for them, since they are a chevy. haha! If he needed a smaller truck, he should have bought a Ranger!

haha, yea. So listen man, i got my new radio in and it is set, i just need to get it in my dash kit, as of now, it is just placed in the radio bezel, no dash. just the inside ( you can see the wires) but I will soon get it in the dash.

That's awesome man! Very cool! I hope that dash kit comes in soon for ya! I know it's no fun to have to wait on parts. But that is sweet that you already have it all hooked up!

I hear ya man! I'm not very good at this kind of thing either. Does your old headunit have a removable faceplate? If I remember right, mine had two little things that snapped in behind the faceplate. I can't remember if there were any screws holding it in from the sides or bottom, it's been a while since I messed with it! I see you posted a question about this in the audio tech section, so hopefully you'll get some much better help! Let me know how it turns out man!

well, it turned out great! I got the new head unit into my dash. Already had the wires set from my older xplod, and since i stuck in a nicer Xplod, i used the same wires. It turned on and all, I had to get it iinside my dash though which took some muscle,etc. haha. I did it though, BY MYSELF! =]

Very cool man! Glad everything worked out good! I'll bet that thing looks cool after dark with the different color options!
