I don't know what kind of phone you have but i got this deck in my bravada and I'm getting one or the model above it for my new ranger!! Cheap way to add bluetooth hands free calling to your truck. As for speakers those piles look nice! I like infinity's but i may look into those instead.

Buy from www.sonicelectronix.com
Cheap prices and good products
I have a sony xplod from best buy. I would have bought from sonicelectronix, but this was a birthday gift. I like it, but the sound quality could definately be better, and the equalizer is in it is garbage.
From what I have read and experianced:
Alpine has some of the best components and subs along with HU's
Pioneer is definately high quality if you are on a buget.
I personally settled for infinity components (not much more than the pioneers I was looking at)
I've looked at the stuff at walmart for kicks, and they don't look to be very high quality.
One last note:
It seems like you are not going for a top of the line system (which is fine). You just want to put a system in your truck. So whatever you do, do not buy anything with a paper cone, or a foam surround.

+1 on all of that.
especially sonic, love those guys, they're 3 miles from my house, and a guy that works there drives an evo
Also, you can't really go wrong with name brand (alpine, kenwood, pioneer, kicker, infinity, etc) but stay away from anything at wal-mart,
so minus the "all of that," don't go for sony, from what I've seen.
If you're going to get new speakers, get these if you can afford them:
Infinity Kappa 682.9cf
They are hands down the best available speakers for rangers.
and if you buy an amp, like this:
Jensen Power 760
You'll be set.
That, plus any head unit from sonic electronix, like this:
Pioneer Premier DEH-P510UB
You can probably get a free amp install kit and Head Unit kit (both required, both about $20-$30)
That's what I would do, (I have that head unit and I'm getting those speakers/amp) for about $400.
but If you want to spend less you can get a different pioneer deck and run pioneer speakers right out of the deck for about $200, but you'll regret it. plus with those speakers, you can put a sub woofer in down the road, with an amp, and have a crazy ass loud sound system.

maybe you want to buy my used stuff though?
four 3-way pioneer speakers, and a pioneer 10" shallow sub (with box) with a kenwood 1000 watt max amp, 300 watts RMS.
all you would need is the head unit, install kit for the head unit, and amp kit.
I'd sell it all for $250.
nothing's blown, it all sounds new.

One thing to remember is to pick a radio with a decent RMS rating, almost every radio out there will push 50w max per channel but the RMS is where the biggest benefit of sound quality comes from. As for the alpine deck mentioned earlier, its nice but most of the decks of that series are lacking the CD-player and just do digital media. Most Pioneer decks have an an RMS of 22w, which usually 5w more than other brands: it makes a difference. For your speakers, try to go with speakers that have the rubber surrounding on them, they are typically a little stronger when it comes to power handling and are less vunerable to dry-rotting over the course of a few years.

Check out these speakers:
http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/S...id/0/SFV/30046
I just got them and they sound great! Nice bass and it has a good wide range. Look at the sit that they're on too. Lots of speakers and all and many of them are much cheaper!
