Nah it stays pretty cool. Plus, it'll go into protect if the components get too hot. The case stays warm though because of the constant 100* weather we've had lately.

No fan. It has a thermal protect mode like all amps do. It'll shut down if it gets too hot.

Yea I've got some carpet on the way. When I get back from my road trip I'm going to pull out the box, sand it, add some more bracing, then cover it and find a way to secure it better in the truck.

It's just a roll of "trunk liner" off of Ebay. It's like a 4'x10' roll and I only paid $20 for it. It's pretty much the same as the stuff companies use for pre-fab boxes.
