Default Plexi-Glass Amp Display Rack W/ Cooling System?

I was wondering has anyone ever done a Plexi-Glass Amp Rack that sits ontop of their sub enclosure? If so how could I use computer fans to create a inlet and outlet of cooling air? Pretty much creating a "Draft" inside the sealed plexi-glass covered amp rack? If So would 4 computer fans be enough to keep an amp cool enough so it doesn't overheat from being in an enclosed compartment?

I've been tossing around the idea when I build my new box. 2 fans should be fine. You can get the ones with LED's in them off Ebay forl like $3 a piece.

Yeah It would be a cool feature, what thickness of plexi-glass are you planning on using? also what size fans are you planning on using also? Would 2" computer fans have enough draft?

Yes Two sucking air in and two blowing air out the case should cool it. I have done amps in a compartment on a box but not on top of a box. As long as the fans are the 3 inch case fans four are over kill. That being said just so you know you will probably hear the fans running. I took the plexiglas off my box bc when I didn't have the music blasting and was just riding around listening to the radio normal they got annoying.

Thanks I'll be using 4 3" fans then, also can I splice them into my remote turn on/off wire? So they turn on and off when I start and shut off my truck?

I wanna do something like that so bad but I don't have a clue on how to do it lol so im just gonna be lazy and buy a fan and aim it on the amp itself

Yeah you would want to run them on a switched power wire. If your head unit has a separate remote amp wire or power antenna wire DO NOT USE IT these wires are for basically a power signal not designed to support any real load. You need to use a remote wire from your fuse panel for the power and support of the small load they will have.
Even having them on a remote will not cure what I was trying to describe to you. When the fans are on ( i.e. when you turn on your truck and you amp turns on) with the radio playing at a normal listening level you can hear the fans humming/blowing noise and it got to be annoying to me. I had my amp rack built into my box and closed it in for looks. Shortly after I took the Plexiglas off and just put a trim in-place of it. Unless you are going to be showing it or doing DB competitions I would suggest an open air mount of some kind.
