anyone cut carpeting on the back wall of a reg cab for a box..??
2010 ranger xl reg cab...
I am trying to fit a box behind the regular cab of my ranger, but at the back wall it is not flat, I need one inch higher for access where the back carpeting is at. Is that easy to cut?? Is it just carpet with some type of thin plywood material? anyone know??

The carpeting is most likely glued to a card board type material, just like the headliner.

The carpet is glued to cardboard. I just recovered mine with black carpet from gray. Behind it is the back of your cab. Not much room to be gained, but its worth a shot i guess?

Im thinking about removing the carpet to remove about a inch and strap in these BA sub boxes that fit perfect in my 93 EXT cab Ranger

if you removed the back panel you would gain a quarter inch maybe. It is thin, even including the carpet ( on a regular cab). On a supercab it is thicker and plastic, not carpet.
