Default System!

Hey guys,

Just picked up an Alpine 4 channel amp as it was a great deal. The guy told me it was usually about 350-400 dollars, and I got it for 140.

Now I'm looking for a Double Din Deck (preferably Alpine) for my truck. Just curious if anyone knows the size (like 5.8" or 7") that would work for a 2010 Ranger.

Also, I'm curious what you guys are using and how the sound quality is on it? (For decks and subs..) The guy told me it's hard to fit anything larger than a 10" sub in the supercab, and I think that would be plenty of bass. What you guys think?

Rockin a 2010 Ford Ranger Sport 2WD.
Stock, but interested in upgrading.

Not 100% sure on the head unit, but im pretty sure a 7" will fit fine. I am currently running a alpine CDA-117 head unit, front alpine type r speakers, and a 10" type r sub with a mrp-m500 amp. I think it sounds pretty decent but i still may get a amp for my speakers.

imo, a single 10" type r is enough, and mines in a sealed box. I have had 2 10's in a ported box and it was loud but lost too much seat room

Don't know too much about the double din's... But as far as subs.. You can get a pretty decent pre-built package for a good price. I was looking at getting 2 12's prebuilt for something like 250ish... Would fit behind the driver seat and go all the way to the opposite side of the 'bump' in the back... Leaving 1 seat in the back..

As for speakers I would recommend Infinity Kappa's.. Have a set upfront and am getting another pair for my birthday tomorrow for the back! I love them! Great speakers!!

Any double din headunit will fit fine. You have to do some MINOR trimming on the radio bezel. If you seach the site I think somebody did a how-to for it. And a 10" is def not the biggest sub you can fit in an extended cab. It all just kind of depends on how much bass you're really going for. Mild system? I'd do a 12" Sundown sa-12 powered by an Audiopipe 1500 in a 1.8ft^3 box tuned to about 33hz. That small of a box would fit perfectly behind the drivers seat.

I drive a 2000 Ranger XLT SuperCab and I have a Super Bass Pro Box behind my seats with 2 Kicker Comp 10's with a 300 Watt amp. It makes everything in my truck shake. But I'm looking into getting some CompVX's.
