Question 2000 B2500, Stock radio no rear fade

Hi all,
I have a 2000 B2500, stock am/fm radio, after driving it for 10 years I finally unscrewed the speaker covers off revealing 2 speakers! I played with the radio and found that there is no front/rear fade option, only left and right balance. Also there is no power being sent to the rear speakers.
What gives?

that IS weird. I imagine finding a radio that does have Fade control would get those rears working.

I was hoping to avoid such things and it would be as easy as just inserting new speakers. Thanks for the reply.

The plain AM/FM radios are not meant for 4 speakers, they are placed in Ranger XL's and "cheapy" model mazdas as well. Cheapy: crank windows, no power mirrors, shit radio, etc. so, it is odd that you have rear speakers in it in the first place. check to make sure they are actually plugged in, if so, then you will need a different radio that actually has rear outputs. if not, then someone has installed the speakers and there must be aftermarket wiring to them.

Thanks guys,

They are wired, however you are correct, the am/fm radio is not meant for rear speakers hence the no rear fade. And yes it is odd, but, I'll take free bonus speakers anyday. Pics would be pointless, as it would only be pics of the rear wired speakers and an am/fm radio, or my awesome "cheapy" mazda b2500. I upgraded to an am/fm with an iphone dock. They work fine, they just weren't connected
