Question Power wire for amp question

I was just wondering if I needed to install a fuse in my power wire if my amp has 2 fuses in it. I don't know much about this stuff but I was told to do that and just want to know if it's necessary since my amp has fuses.

reguardless if your amps have fuses or not it's always a good idea to put an inline fuse when running a power wire..... not to sound like an @$$ but it could save you a butt load of money in the long run...

YES YES YES you should put an inline fuse on your power wire. To explain further it's not to protect your amp (as you said it has its own fuses) it is to protect your truck in case that wire was to ever rub through and make contact with any metal the fuse will blow causing the wire to go dead so that it wont catch fire and burn your truck or possibly your house (if it was in the garage or near by) to the ground! That would kind of suck.

EVERYTHING should have an inline fuse within 6" of the power source (battery, distro box terminal, fuse tap, etc). The fuse must be rated equal to or less than the maximum the wiring and components can handle, or 125% of the load attached to the circuit, whichever is less.

Fuse on wire make truck not go boom boom.

Put an inline fuse on the wire where you connect it to the battery. Make sure the wire you're using is of adequate size for the amp. And make sure the fuse us probably the same amp rating as the one on the amp itself.

Haha! Uh well my amp is 275w max and 150w rms so what size fuse should I use?
