Default Premium sound, where the hell is the amp???

I swapped out my factory tape deck for a pioneer cd, everything works but found that the left front channel is fouled up in the factory amp (premium sound, and it did it with the factory stereo also), I have a bypass cable to get around the factory amp, but one question, where the hell is it??? I have a 94 ext cab 4x4 that had the factory premium tape deck, so I had the long grey connector and the square amp speaker connector.
Thanks!!!!!

Some are in the rear of the cab in the back wall and some are around the glove box area

if i am not mistaken they stopped it after 3rd gen trucks... minus Tremor's which has some good sound systems...

i am referring to my 1994 splash about the amp

I think 1999 2000 is when they stopped then they came out with the tremor package then 2004 they came out with the 290 watt pioneer system

Note to anyone that has the Premium sound. There is no plug n play harness to bypass the amp in 1994. You have to splice the stereo speaker wires into the wiring harness. I bought the connector that works for later years, then cut the other end off and ran extensions, it works, but a pain in the ass!

Wouldn't it be safe to say that all rangers got 'premium' sound after a certain year? The speaks are pretty darn nice straight off the showroom floor...

I have a 2005 Ranger XLT with the indash 6 cd Pioneer head unit and I must say it sounds great for a factory system. I am thinking of upgrading the speakers sometime down the road and was wondering if this system has a factory amp or is it all driven off the headunit. Also does this headunit have a preamp to drive an amp for a sub?
