I've searched on here and havent found anything yet. I have a brand new kenwood deck model # kdc-248u and its a 16 point connection. I just wanted to see if anyone bought the adapter from walmart or wherever. And if anyone ran into trouble while installing. Any help is welcomed.

P.S.. i have sub and amp so if you did buy a adapter for it, how did you hook up the the remote turn on wire? thanks

its pretty easy... on the bottom of your deck it should have a diagram that shows what wires do what... when you buy the ford adapter at walmart the package or booklet has the wiring diagram for the adapter... its just a simple match up. As far as the remote wire.. i dont quite remember what i did but look for the solid blue wire and attach it.... NOTE: I cut my plug of of the deck if i recall right. Im sure theres a better way to do it but this is how i did it and never had a problem with it.

Buy the adapter harness. Its just a matter of matching the colors. Remote for amp hooks to the blue from the deck harness.

Sounds good. Although, on the box (don't quote me, its been awhile) it says just plug into the ford side, then just plug into the back of the deck and your good to go. But from what your saying, it sounds like im going to have to match it all up. Just looking for a little clarification cause i've never hooked up a new head unit

sometimes there are "smart cables" the plug into the deck and into the factory wiring. In most cases, there is just the harness that plugs into the factory harness that will have: RED YELLOW BLACK. PURPLE/PURPLE WHITE. GREEN/GREEN WHITE. GREY/GREY BLACK. WHITE/WHITE BLACK.

The harness that comes with your deck has these same colors. Just match colors from the two harnesses. Plug in and done.

heres mine I installed a few months ago. I have a kenwood deck also. Heat shrink butt splice are the way to go!

Notice on the deck side harness is to blue wires. blue and blue white. One is for power antenna, the other is remote power. Connect your amp wire to the power antenna. Theres also a mute and dimmer wire. I did not hook those up.

Thats what i like to hear! I could sit and tinker with an engine for hours and be fine but when it comes to electrical stuff, i just hate it.
