Default Satallite Radio???

Question....

I have a stock 2009 radio with Satallite Radio. I want to keep the Satallite radio but I cant stand the Stock head unit, but I want to use the antenna (if that is how you spell it) that came with the truck. Does anybody know how I can use the antenna with an aftermarket radio. I looked behind the dash and the satallite radio has a seperate wiring harness, and the antenna runs into the stock reciever for the satallite. Basically I don't want to have to run a new antenna... I know I will have to get a new reciever.

mine dose and its like a real small coated cable like for a bike lock but mine is after market and the new 09 sat wiring should be in line same as the antenna in line so threes only one wire harness and one antenna in the back of head unit

Hey STL, I finally got the antenna unplugged and it appears in the picture that is a harness of some type, but that yellow cap can be removed and the antenna wire is somewhat like the pic you posted above. Looks like a small coaxiel cable. I couldnt get my camera to focus on it close up so no pics but I believe I will be ablt to use the antenna with any setup....

Cool deal

You plan to get a radio with sat. radio built in?

If you dont and you get a dash unit i recommend the Delphi XpressRC

best one out there 1 year ago you can pause and rewind radio and store your fav. artist and songs. When they come on it beeps telling you what channel

Also if you get a dash unit I can show u how to hard wire it so you don't have a crap ton of wires every where

Ill be glad to sell you my head unit, only thing is it will be a month or two before I plan on getting a new head unit so... If you don't want to wait I understand.

STL,

Im not sure what I want yet. I was figurin on a built in system cause thats all I have ever had, really never thought of a dash unit. Ill have to look into it. Opinion?
