Default Double Din... Is in!

Well I am sooo soo glad the long awaited double din installation is over.. I got my double din mounting kit from walmart for 15.00. That being said, I did haved to modify the hell out of the kit to get it to work with my double din. I had to cut top and bottom plastic peices, and had to file down both side plastic pieces. But all of that work was sure worth it, I haved to finish up my wiring tommorow, and add my sockets back in! CRITICS are welcome. Good or bad, I want to know what you have to say!
P.S. I already know that the shift pattern on the knob is in-correct, I still have to paint it or add a new one!
Thanks guys! -Houston

It'll clear even if it's recessed. So if you decide later you'd rather to do it that way you can.
I think I have the same head unit if that's a Pioneer AVH. I used the Metra 95-5817 Double DIN Installation Kit.
It's a matter of preference. But I think it looks more integrated if it doesn't stick out. Some people go flush.
