It seems like buying an amp shouldn't be first on your list if your speakers get distorted from just your head unit. Buy some decent 5x7s or 6x8s...best if you get multiway speakers(2 or 3 way). When choosing your speakers be sure to. Take note of the wattage they can handle(rms is the important wattage value). Then u should choose an amp that will safely give you that wattage. As for amp brand or type I don't know what's best. But just remember buying the speakers may help your problem and you may not even need to purchase an amp if the sound is satisfactory to you.

+1 on replace the speakers first and then work from there. The stocks are ok at low levels but disort very quickly if pushed.

On speakers I'd suggest the Kenwood p680c's I have installed...
Installed Kenwood 6x8 p680c speakers

I'm very happy with them and while I don't listen to heavy base music a friend was playing some in my truck and it was pretty impressive.

Yes def get the same speakers front and back. You could probably get away without an amp but you will get better quality with the new speakers with a small amp. Just buy a good brand decent sized amp for your speakers out of the way, install new speakers and you will be golden.

whats ur price range, id get the alpine R's but they are not cheap by any means at all. Almost too much for speakers honestly but I like to go above and beyond and if im going to do it, do it big. But that acourse is only if the funds allow.
