Default Shorter antenna

I was thinking of putting a shorter antenna on my ranger and was wondering if it would cause problems with radio reception.

Same here... if you look on eBay a lot of the antennas guarantee same as stock audio quality.... you might notice a slight difference but I've never had an issue with mine.

I put a short one on mine. I've noticed a VERY minor decrease in quality but not enough to make me want to change back.

I have a sharkfin on my car, which is way smaller than the stock antenna. Works just fine.

What shorter antennas is everyone using? I had an autozone one, it broke in half.

I bought mine from some company on eBay.... it was advertised for rangers and escapes and guaranteed equal or better sound quality.... and it looks identical to a mini version of the stock one.

Billy does that mean you don't have the stock one in your bed anymore?? haha

Just chop it off no problems? Wrap the end after the cut or put something on it?

I still have the stock one in the bed "just in case" but I lock my tonneau cover now so I guess it doesn't serve me any good!
