Default Rampage Sub

I was given this 200 watt 8" powered sub tube made by Audiovox. Model number Rampage BA-100. It has 4 connections on the back, Ground, Speaker +, Speaker -, and 12v. According to the manual it should be connected to an unswitched (always on) power source with a 5 amp fuse. For me this seems odd since there is no remote wire or power switch. Unless it gets its on/off signal from the speakers. I wanna know if this is right so I don't fry something.

it shouldnt need any power except when being used i would assume, the power drawn from the batter is probably virtually non exsistant when its not pushing sound that is given from the deck.
