Now, if you are talking about their old stuff (2007 and older), that is a completely different subject. Ive had their new and old. The units I like are the 9833,9835, and the 9853, 9855. You can really setup sound imaging very well with that unit. You really have to read the manual to get full effect of the units though. I think pioneer and panasonic are alot easier to setup out of the box, so I prefer them.

Imo, for the average person, Pioneer is the best bet.
Some of the newer Double Din alpines you can fine tune with a gadget they got. It allows the best sound possible for the vehicle it is in

dont they have that mic you put in your car and it does it automatically or something liek that.

Dont get me wrong, they have some really cool inventions. One of my fav's is (I think its the same double din your talking about actually) you replace the wiring harness and it adds a box in line before your factory wiring and it will amp up the power going to your speakers (i believe instead of 18rmsx4 it turns it into 45rmsx4). pretty cool.

Either way, their new stuff isnt the same as the old stuff. Personally, I had a newer double in (replace an outdated avic-d2) and the d2 sounded alot better.

Ya you place a mic in the center of the vehicle and it will fine tune it.

RangerJustin had the little power amp deal for his head unit.

i actually got a kenwood kdc-x794 and im really suprised by how much you can tune it, it sounds amazing, but if you want plug and play go for the pioneer or sony, both are good companies to deal with if you ever have a problem as well.

I really like my Pioneer double din, easy to fine tune, just need a bypass for the GPS and it's good to go. Other than that, speaker wise I really like infinity speakers. I have a Pioneer sub/amp but I am planning on putting infinity in my doors and back doors. My buddy put them in his ranger and I haven't heard a better set up yet. (not knocking alpine or sony) just my opinion

I have a 2002 Tremor edition. I just replaced the headunit with a new one (for blue tooth functionality). It doesn't seem like I am getting the same amount of power from the audio now. I have read where others had issues replacing the head unit on Tremors. Best buy did the install and did not report any problems but the audio just doesn't sound right. Has anyone replaced the head unit on a tremor before? How would I be able to tell if the amp is functioning with the new unit correctly?

No, not until I figure out why the sound is off now that the new unit is in. I'll keep in in mind though if I get this fixed.
