Amp help
Hey fellas. I got a 2000 Ford Ranger reg cab for Christmas and I'm looking to put a system in it. I have the deck and sub picked out but I don't know how big of an amp I need to power the sub (watt wise).
Since it's a reg cab, I don't have a whole lot of room behind the seat (7 1/2 in) and so I found a shallow mount CVT 10" enclosed Kicker. Now, how big of an amp do I need to power it? Here is the sub.
If anybody could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Amp help
Do you plan on installing new/better door speakers? If so, you might want to look into a 5-channel amp.

Re: Amp help
I wouldnt get anything bigger than 1000 watt one. Your max on your sub is 800 watts so that should more than safice..

Yes, I'm gonna put better door speakers in. Any amp recommendations?

Re: Amp help
This amp would be what I would buy if I were you. You can run your door speakers off of it, and your sub. And because you have a regular cab you need all the room you can get so only having one amp is the way to go.

Re: Amp help
Could somebody tell me the difference between RMS Power Handling and Peak Power Handling.
Also, when looking for an amp, how do you know how much power to get?

Re: Amp help
You always want to look at the RMS power. RMS is how much power the sub can comfortably handle. Peak, well it's all BS so don't pay any attention to it.
