Default need amp help

hello,
Soon i will buying new amps and i have a budget of about 400. To start i had a infinity kappa 5, which i nearly set on fire it was a good amp exept that problem .

This time around im kinda looking at having two amps. Altho if i dont find anything that suits me, i will be getting a boston gt5750 5 channel

The amps i am loooking at is the MB Quart REF4.50 and the Rockford Fosgate P400-1 . Trouble is i know almost nothing about Mb Quart, exept the fact there owned by the same company as hifonics.

Any input would be appericated. The only requirments i would like to stick by is the amp(s) cant consume more than 100 amps combined , and i would like the amp(s) to be no wider than 8", of course exceptions can be made

Just incase here is the rest of my system (4) Infinity Kappa 682.9cf (100 rms) (1) Boston Acoustics G312-44 (375 rms) and a Kenwood KDC-BT742U

Those rockford are solid little amps. I've got a P500-2 I keep around for backup/loaner amp and that MB Quart looks good to. I had a DSC4125 for a bit and liked it and that looks to be on par with those. Have you thought about a RF P400-4 for matching amps?

you cant go wring with memphis or kicker. i have a memphis 500 watt mono block powering 2 12" memphis subs. The amp itself is pretty small. I think they are about $225 brand new

Not quite that simple. 1. Very rarely will your amps pull the maximum amperage. 2. I wouldn't worry about amp rating vs alt rating at this level of power.

A stock electrical can support upwards of 1500 watts but I always recommend putting at least a small battery in the back to help keep your amps happy. The kinetic HC600, XS power D680 or Batcap 800 all take up very little space and can help save not only your amp but your electrical system also.

memphis is good but not cheep. they are proud of there stuff. Do you have a car audio store near you? go talk to them and see what they can do for you. id rather buy from a local buisness than buy online. if something messes up its alot easier to get it corrected then going through all the online crap.

For door speakers, Rockford P400.4. I have one, I love it. I've run door speakers and subs off of it. Very solid amp and can be had for about $125-$175 used. Also, you could get a RF P400.2 like this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ROCKF...item53e596d623

For the sub, this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ROCKF...fAudioQ5fVideo

It says 300w RMS @ 2ohm but it'll do more than that. It would be perfect for your sub in my opinion. Plus, you'd have matching amps so you would get a couple extra points for that.

well i just bought the vibe litebox stereo 4 we'll see how it goes when i get it in on paper and reviews its a good amp the only other problem i have is the mono block that matches it puts out 500 watts a 2 ohms when my sub can only handle 375

That amp most likely doesn't actually put out 500w @ 2ohms so you'll be fine with it and that sub.
