Default Stereo System (The whole thing)

I just got an 05 ford ranger and I want to put in a whole new stereo system in it. I did this for my 94 jeep sport, but that was a pretty easy learn to do thing because someone had already put in a head unit and i only had to add in a new one with the modifications I made. My question is this:

Can someone recommend a good head unit and install 'kit'. Maybe a wiring kit. I have a unit already, I just need the housing. Or if someone can recommend a new one that would be great too. I plan on adding an amp and new speakers too.

And, are there any dash kits for an 05 ranger?

Pioneer head unit.

a Universal mount kit is what you are going to need.

You can just get the one from Walmart. That's what I did. It works fine. If not, Metra has a kit.

Metra doesnt allow you to buy a kit from them, and amazon says they have the part number for the kit but the pic looks way different. I jerry riged my jeep, and I dont want to do that the the truck. Did walmart have the mounting kits?

wal-mart is going to be the quickest and easiest. I have put many in and my ranger was the simplest on of all.

you will want the universal mount kit. Also, i don't know if you have one, but buy a wiring adapter for the head unit. I did it with my alpine, a lot easier than cutting the wiring harness connector off.
