Default Power Acoustik vs. Pioneer

I blew my little 1200w pioneer so its time to upgrade. These are the 2 I've settled on. I'm really leaning towards the P.A. but I do like pioneer. My amp is 2000w so it can power both just fine. I'm also back and forth on sticking with one or possibly doing two. Opinions?

Never ever Power Acoustik. Never. It's a car audio rule of thumb. Never PA, Pyle, Pyramid, Boss, Crunch, or any other of those lesser brands. As far as your thread title goes, there is no comparison. Pioneer is a trustworthy quality brand.

I say it depends if you want quality or not. But I would go pioneer for sure. Min box requirements are pretty small which is a plus for a small cab of the ranger.

I would say go with the Pioneer but we don't know what box you have or if it is ported or sealed or bandpass or if you have any type enclosure yet.

Also, what make and model amp do you have for the sub ?

Also, what is up with the 8" Pyle speakers in the bed ?

I would say pioneer, my buddy had 2 of them on an 1800w amp clipping the crap out of them and they survived for a long time, they can take a beating.

Pioneer it is. That makes me happy cause everything is already pioneer. I have a couple amps and smaller boxes but with these ima buy a new box and amp to match.

I highly recommend these I have one 10" in my truck in an undersized box but it's still produces very clean responsive bass.

Undersized box is good if it is sealed very well and you have a tad more power than rated RMS of the sub. It don't need a subsonic filter and you can crank it without worrying about it bottoming out because of the spring effect inside the box and the bass is tight and usually dang accurate.

You can make those 150 watts RMS rated 10" Kicker Comps actually sound better than their quality is if you put them in a 1 cu. ft. box and give them 200 watts RMS.

I'm rambling again. Lots of red wine !

I said in the post before this ima get a new amp and box to match these subs. Idk what box/amp yet. The 8" pyles are for bonfires, mudbogs, really any outdoor event where music is requested. Keeps me from havin to leave my doors open.

I looked at some tens but I just prefer 12's. I don't know why. I also like that I'm goin to stick with pioneer. That way the head, speakers, sub, and amp will all match. I'm also going to build a new tube for the bed with a seperate amp and power system with 2 8" subs and 2 8" 4-way pioneer marine speakers. The smaller tube that's back there now will be goin back on the fourwheeler.

There is no logical reason to match component brands.

There's nothing wrong with a little brand loyalty XL I feel ya dude, it's cool to have a matching system. Sometimes brands excel in one area and lack in others though, but Pioneer seems to have everything covered pretty well. Alpine does too.

Pioneer has some POS amps and Alpine has some POS heads.

One of my friends told me I should just take my 2000w custom I had built and put the pioneer logo on it.
