another thing every source has its own equalizer settings so you can use the equalizer to set up individual bands within each source. different sources require different frequency settings for example radio frequency is below sattelite radio, usb has a lower quality and bit rate than either and so does cd.

He's right. Different sources alter song dynamics, therefore adjustments can be made for each different source. Especially with burnt cds. Its like when you download a bunch of songs from different places, each one has different dynamics.

I'm not saying it can't be done. It's a really good way to bad sound quality to use multiple or even 2 filters and/or EQ's in series.

I think what he's saying is you can have separate eq setting for radio, cd, usb, etc., etc. Most head units have this feature built in. Not sure about the quality of usb and cd comment was supposed to mean though. Satellite and FM certainly don't sound better than my USB or cd.
