Default My new Sony CD/MP3 receiver

This is basically a "brag" post. LOL

I went to Best Buy to pick out a new head unit for my Ranger. I went there with intentions of buying a Pioneer unit. I didn't like the Pioneer units, mostly b/c of the dinky USB port cover...plus I couldn't find one with "green lights". (I wanted green to match the interior lights of my truck.)

I found a perfect Sony CDX GT700HD on sale for 169.99. I liked it b/c it was green....it can also change to blue...and it has a remote and a cool door for the USB port. They were out of stock. The display looked brand new...so I talked them into selling me the display for $99.00. The only bad thing was no remote with it...but I found one on Ebay for 9.00 w/ free shipping.

Here is a pic of it installed. The kit looks warped...its not. Its actually a "curve" kit that I thought looked cool. The bottom pocket does "sag" a bit...but I have yet to see one that doesn't. Plus..it doesnt look so bad b/c the kit is curved anyways.

$99 is a sweet deal for a Sony CD Player.

Yea, I thought so too. Made me feel better about "splurging" for a CD player. I didnt know how much of a difference an aftermarket unit would make relative to the OEM unit until I listened to it.

Oh yeah there is a big difference between the Ranger stock head unit and an after market head unit as far as sound quality.
