Default Sirius Radio

I have free Sirius radio for 6 months with the purchase of my new Ranger. I quite like it, but will the novelty wear off after a while? I just drive my truck to and from work every day and I usually listen to the local news in the morning and then some FM music on the way home. I think Sirius is $14/month.

Has anyone kept up their Sirius radio after 6 months?

And why did Ford put the satellite antenna over the passenger door? Why couldn't they centre it on the roof , towards the back over the rear sliding window? I don't know....some designers just don't get it!

i have thought about Sirius radio before but then i thought it is better value to upgrade you head unit and plug in you ipod... then it is always music you like, good quality, commercial free and its cheaper.... although i guess it depends how much you drive and where you live... where i am there is only like 1 radio station, lol

With my take it or leave it attitude regarding Sirius, I didn't subscribe after the 6 months had expired....especially when they wanted the full rate of $14/month. A couple of months later, Sirius wanted me back and gave me a sweet deal that was hard to ignore.....got a 6 month subscription for $5/month.

honestly i dont like it all that much, i mean you cant cache the songs you really like on a station so you dont have any on demand features, and i found living up in the hills reception can be a little shaky going through canyon roads and heavily treed areas. I say get an ipod and put all the music you like on it so you have it on demand. you can even get an FM transmitter so you dont have to get a different head unit.

I had siruis for a long while, I loved it. Back then they also had FREE internet access. So I could listen all the time. It was cheap. $10/month I thought.

I listend to Howard Stern. The dial never left that station.

Now, you have to pay for internet access as well. So if your not in your truck all that much, don't get it.

I am of the opinion that Siruis is of poor quality stream and I do not intend to subscribe beyond the free 6 months.

The antenna is magnetic I think... you can just pulll it off your roof and discard it. I'm pretty sure I watched the door seal technician lift it straight off the roof when he was inspecting for leaks.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

I haven't got it for my truck but I did get a free trial for my phone and it's pretty good. The other night I listened to it all night and I loved it. I may get it.

If you find out let me know. Center towards the back would have been nice. And no i did not keep it. Not for what they want for it.

I told sirius that unless they could give me a sweet deal I dont want it. They gave it to me for 12months for the price of 5 months. I love it, especially since I drive 50kms a year.
