factory is what size is in my signature for most all ranger standard any way, rear cab were usually 6x8"s.If it varies on the door panel, maybe on some years ive read that 5x8 inches were on earlier models.

^ This guy, makes no sense. But the speakers are 6x8's. 5x7's also fit fine with no custom work.

your whole thread makes no sense, but wasted b/s when you could look up other threads posted in tech to answer your questions, and why put a low grade 5x7 that has no sound, and the amprage equivalent to a clock radio, unless for door speakers for low mid range sound like stx's had to mimic surround sound which was a ford joke.5x7's have no base all treble, everything i have was professionally installed replaceing the old factory ragged stuff same size except the front dash 4 inchers original was like 3 1/2 a small moded plate alowed the 4's, thats keepin it simple to original speakers,so look up tech threads or take what advice ya get n live with it with some respect.and i posted you can read my signature for right explanation of original sizes if you had respect to read my sig profile you would have your answer n peice of mind, what a joker thread lolz.¿

All you did was tell the OP to check your sig for the original sizes... his truck doesn't even have 4" speakers! My double post? I never have any double post? What the fuck are you talking about? You realize that you're a joke right? With your "Bull Snake Ranger with factory lockers and factory 3" lift" LOL

This guy's ridiculous. Not only are his posts full of bull crap, but its like he doesn't even know how to use proper English. Good job calling him out on it.

As for the question of whether or not you can fit a 6x9, you could do it as long as you don't mind cutting a little bit and putting a little padding in for insulation. But if you are looking for something that is going to fit straight into the door you are looking at either a 6x8 or 5x7.

Thanks man. Also to the OP, if you want to install 6.5" round speakers, you can make an adapter plate. I did this in my truck and if you want more details on how to do it PM me and I'll answer any questions you might have.
