Sound proofing...
So if I drop in a better stereo next year, just wondering if it's worth it to get Dynamat installed in all 4 doors? Anyone have any experience with that stuff? Guy at BestBuy told me if I'm gonna do it, do all of the doors and get the full panel coverage rather than just the area surrounding the speakers.

Re: Sound proofing...
depends on how much you like sound, and how much you want to put into your stereo, its expensive as all hell, but it works really well, it reduces exterior noise and will make your speakers sound better. will also help with the sub vibrations.

Re: Sound proofing...
Well come next spring I'll be ready to throw some more cash at it. Never know there might be a deal to be had on a stereo so I can throw the savings towards the Dynamat.

Re: Sound proofing...
word, if you are planning on making it nice, i would say go for it, but if you are picking between nicer speakers or dynamat, speakers, it wont give you a whole lot of bang for your buck but it will be noticably different and better.

Re: Sound proofing...
Not sure where i'll go with the speakers. I upgraded the factory speakers with some 3-way pioneers that were on sale. They're are rated for 240W but not sure they would do justice to the system i might install. Wouldn't mind one of those large face units with built in GPS (not that I need GPS).
These are the speakers I had installed:

Re: Sound proofing...
well they arent a bad speaker, if you amp them they will sound even better tho. i think i would build up my system and then lastly dynamat it if your still not satisfied. do you already have a deck or is it still stock? that will make the speakers sound like 45634563452546 times better.

Re: Sound proofing...
ya that was the whole point with the pioneers... just make sound acceptable for now. the stock speakers were too boxy sounding for my liking. still using the factory deck. someone posted a pic of their kenwood deck with built in gps which i thought wud make for a decent upgrade later on. i'm kinda daft when it comes to car audio... wud i still need an amp with a higher end deck?

Re: Sound proofing...
yeah even with a new deck you should run an amp for premium sound, but if you swap to a new deck it will sound killer even without an amp for now, that would be my next upgrade if i were you. i just put in a kenwood kdc-x794 and its sweet as all hell makes my factory speakers sound good enough to run while i build up my sub box and all that, but eventually ill dynamat my doors and maybe floor and ceiling. i would make the deck way more of a priority.

Re: Sound proofing...
Dynamat is pricey. I recommend other brands of soundproofing. I had used B-Quiet's Brown Bread on my Mazda truck a number of years ago.

Re: Sound proofing...
I'm open to whatever... I just used that brand as an example since that's what BB sells and I was there getting speakers installed...
