40W x 4 Channel 0.1% THD at 4 Stereo @13.8V (RMS Continuous Power)
ChannelFlex Crossover
Adjustable High-Pass Frequency (50-200Hz, L/R Independent)
Low-Pass Frequency (120Hz)
Adjustable Bass-Boost Level (45Hz, 0-9dB, F/R Separate)
High-Current, High-Speed Output Devices
High-Efficiency, High-Energy MOS-FET Power Supply
Audiophile Grade Component Selection
Intelligent 7-Way Discrete Protection Circuitry
Noise Reduction with Low Distortion & Ultra-Low Negative Feedback

2 Stable Design

i have 2 10" rockford fosgate punch P1 subs, they are single voice coil 4ohm subs,

the deck im using is a nice kenwood kdc-x794, 50x4 watts. i am wondering if the amp is powerful enough to push the two subs well. any advice is appreciated.

----------

also if im not satisfied with the amp for the subs, would it be a good amp to run the 4 6x8s in the cab?

Is the amp bridgeable. if so u could bridge the front and rear channels to run to each sub. This amp is mostly made for running your four full range speakers but if its bridgeable itll work. I would personally use it for your door speakers and save up for a monoblock or 2 channel for your subs.

----------

also make sure whenever using an amp for subs lpf or low pass filter is engaged

The amp be used if it's bridgeable into 2 channels (run one sub per bridged channel), the question is.... would it output enough power for the subs... answer: probably not. If it maxes out at 120w x 2 channels it won't drive the subs very much.

On the other hand, it would be a nice amp to run 2 door speakers & 2 rear speakers. Set the crossover for HI pass & use it for your midrange speakers & look for a good deal on a 2 channel or mono amp for the subs.

well actually according to the rockford fosgate website it says the subs are 150/300w peak, so thats not much higher, so would it be ok to get away with until the holiday season passes and i can get something bigger?

also which is better for running subs, a 2 channel amp or a mono amp?

If you're only using it for a short time, it should get you by. You probably won't be pounding the rear view mirror off, but it'll be better than nothing.

I've always tried to keep my setups simple. If I have 2x 4ohm subs, I run a 2 channel amp with 1 sub per channel. It also gives me options if I want to use that amp to run a set of mids and use a bigger sub amp.
Lots of people now are into these low impedance setups with 1ohm loads & stuff, but I've never been a big fan of that stuff.

I have a 4ch amp that I ran for years as my only amp. CH 1&2 were hi pass for my 4 5x7's & CH 3&4 were bridged mono in lo pass for my 15" sub. The amp never got hot, never went into protect mode, no issues whatsoever.
Now, I have that 4ch amp running my 4 5x7's in hi pass with a new 1500w 2ch amp bridged mono running my 15".

i dont understand what the ohms are and all that, but i think ill try the amp out just so i have something until then, but i do like the idea of only having one amp, so maybe ill look for something like that whern i can afford it.
