wow im suprised with these responses.... bigger sub does not mean deeper bass.... small sub dosnt mean neat and clean fast bass...

question is how much room do you have? how much u wanna spend?

a properly designed box for a 10" type r on a mpr-500 (idk if thats what the name of the amp is exactly) will hit pleanty hard and be a good all around sub for a decent price.

but theres tons of choices so jus hpw much u willing to spend and how much space.

Crutchfield currently has some of their subs on BOGO, including Kicker Comps. There's also a really "cheap" Focal, and the JVC Arsenal CS-AW7020/AW7040. Polk Audio "MM's" are "buy one, get one half price".

If you are a first-time purchaser at Crutchfield you can get an additional $20 discount off a $200 order if you use a "friend referral code" such as mine, which is: p7sdj-hrx8q-9800g, plus free shipping.

I recomend 2 of the Kicker comp cvrs in a 10". 2 10's will give you very good all around range. they will not drop like a pair of 12's would. I personally like the way the comp cvrs are built. Rubber suspension instead of foam. Glued and stitched compared to most being just glued. Nice aluminum cone for durability. most competitors are some type of paper/fiber. The connectors on the sub themselves are very rigid and durable.

I have 4 10's in my ranger and I have broke my rear window. 4 will drop just as good if not better than any pair of 12's.

the cvrs are the way to go.

I'm thinking the same thing here. I mean these responses are great but you might be better off lookin at craigslist or eBay, if you don't mind them being a little used. That's where I got all my stuff from. Plus things are priced amazingly.

If you're not lookin to impress people outside of the car, you really only need a 400-500watt amp, like he said ^.

From there, find a sub that meets those requirements. Kickers are good, a little pricy though. But that's quality. Look into Rockford subs or pioneers.
