Default Amp Ground '99 single cab

Had an amp grounded to the driver's side seat bolt and it worked fine for a while but cut out all of a sudden. This install wasn't for myself, I have my own system, so I took the amp out to test it and it worked fine in my setup. I've checked everything else and realized it has to be the ground, and it has to be where the ground is located to the vehicle. I'm really curious as to where most of you have your amps grounded? None of the seat bolts work anymore, it's like Ford put a piece of sheet metal between the actual frame and the seat making for a tough connection.

There is a rubber plug under the carpet, I think it is right behind the drivers seat(ext cab) anyhow, find that plug, cut an "x" in it run your graound thru there and bolt it to the frame in one of the many holes there. Get some black RTV and goop over the "X" spot.

Make certain that the body ground from the battery is in good shpe also as that would be the return for the amps power. you might want to increase the size also as the 10 gauge Ford supplied is a bit light for anything over 100 watts
