I installed the kenwood kdc-x993 that used to be in my neon in my ranger and I had forgot about one of the nifty little functions of it....



You can set the color of the face plate to what er you want and it only made sense with a yellow ranger with yellow accents on the interior to have a yellow face on it... Let me know what you think...next mods are finish up the cb/pa system, hella 500's behind the grill and tinting the tail lights and maybe the headlights

THAT IS AWESOME!!! i am wanting to do the yellow bezel soon. i saw a color changeing radio at best buy the other day and the yellow setting was a nice yellow color, yours is nice to!

This one changes colors...can be set to one color all over or you can set the screen to one color, the right side (knob and right side of the lines) to one color and the other side to another color...I'll take some more pics when I get home....it also has iPod hookup and Bluetooth cell connect so I dint have to take my hands off the wheel to answer the phone. Mutes the music and all...

hahaha na im fine with the tires/rims, even though its a pretty sweet deal, im gunnna have to pass wow thats a sweet system if it can do all that!

hey 2002vertGT did you use a rear support bracket for your stereo?? I am installing a new JVC HDR40 headunit using a American International Dash kit provided by crutchfield.... There is this rear plastic support bracket. Do I use it?

Question is... if I install the rear bracket how would I remove headunit if braket gets in the way of the sleeve??? Do I have to saw the bracket off to be smaller than the height of the headunits sleeve???

This isn't gramhar skool so dont cry and whine about spelling.

you do not need to use the brace, but if you just have too, you can still take the radio out by removing the 2 7mm bolts from under the radio on the bezel and removing the whole bezel and radio at once.

He's right on my radio (the readio did come from crutchfield but the vehicle install gear was already with this truck, it used to have a jvc). I don't know what this rear support is but on mine I just removed the bezel, took out old radio installed new one into the radio bracket and set the little metal brakes so it didn't fly out on me, put the while thing back in the bezel, connected wires, checked toake sure it worked, then put the bezel back in.....don't forget the bolts!

I don't know what your roads are like, but up here without that brace supporting the rear end the radio would vibrate like a mother. Also, per Alpine, they have a tolerance for the 'angle' of the receiver front to back for cd playback.
