Exclamation sub whining driving me crazy

i have a metrik sub that i have been trying to get rid of the whining, whenever i turn my bass up with the bass remote knob it gets worse and the pitch of it changes with the rpms. i just upgraded my ground going to my frame to my battery, and from my amp to my frame with 2 gauge welding lead wire. my power wire is also this 2 gauge welding lead wire. all connections between the wires and terminal ends are soldered in, and covered with heat shrink. my power wires are ran under the cab of the truck, and my rca/remote combo wire is ran inside the cab. can some please help me out, i want to be able to use my underglow again on million color, but it wont work while the squeal is going on, it just makes the sub go crazy

do you have insulated rca cables...? and are they of good quality...?

I had a whin in my system, then I changed to Monster Cables home audio RCA. Actually I use the Blue and Red from the component cables

whin was gone. I think that the rca picks up the voltage running thru the truck and any power wires running. Like if you have power seats, or the wire for the seat belt maybe, of corse your power wire for your amp.

Let me know what you find out.

You can get a ground loop isolator from meijer for like 15 bucks. I had to get one for my amp for the door speakers. The whine I had was so bad I didn't even want to listen to the radio. I installed the isolator and have had no whine since. It installs to the amp with RCA plugs then the RCA's from the hu plugs into the isolator.

Even with shielded RCA's you should always run your speaker and rca's on one side of the cab and all of the power wires on the other. And also make sure any spot that you choose to use as a mounting point for your grounds is sanded down and good solid contact is made.

I would get one of those! I had the same problem with the whining when i had my door speakers hooked to my amp. Just get one of those from Walmart or Ebay and you will be good to go
Basically it is a plug in play thing so its very easy to hook up.

you want to make sure to run power wires on one side and rca's on other. you could get a ground loop isolater, or if you want to improve your sound get you a set of stinger zero noice rca's. i use to have the same ground loop problem, i installed the stinger zero noice rca's and no more whine, no matter what. a ground loop isolater is cheaper way, but the stinger rca's are better sound for your system and they are well worth the investment.
