sub gurus help needed! cleanest 8's???
looking to make better use of my extended cab
have a bulky 10" jl right now in a prebuilt powered sealed box. planning on taking my other jumpseat out and building a downfire box across the whole floor anywhoooo.... need suggestions/opinions on some 8" subs! more for sq but some good lows also not set on any brands/price just want the best overall sound!

Hmmm well I sort of got a new sub for now lol. 10" polk ex series II sounds better than my JL believe it or not. Still looking for some nice 8's though

uh.... memphis makes some gnarly 8's. we put 10 of them in the back of an expo a few months back and it was fucking wild.

Loved my 2 memphis 10's in my old zx2. Awesome sound! And they seem to last longer than anything out there! A coworker has a 12 in his wrx that's like 9 years old lol

Seriously I am shocked at this "new" polk my friend gave me(free!)
Best overall sound I've had in a sub As for the 8's I've narrowed it down to the JBL gto's, the RE-8's, and memphis. Sundown seems to have more excursion that what I'm looking for( keeping a sealed box) Little torn though because I tested one of the shallow 13.5" jl's and it was just flippin awesome but for $500 for the woofer alone I'm hesitant. I can get the RE-8's for like $80 a pop and build my own box for half the price....

The RE-8 is a great sub! Put it in a small sealed enclosure and you won't be disappointed.
