I would always recommend using 1/0 between the batteries, and typically for 1500 watts I'd recommend it as well but those AP's input terminals are hard to get a true to size 4awg in so without some type of 1/0 to 4awg reducer He'd run into some issues. I always recommend 1/0 to anyone going over 1000-1200 watts clamped power, it gives room to upgrade later without rewiring.

Best bet will be to measure and get dimensions to find out what type of airspace you have to work with, then narrow down subs using that.
