all I really need is a charger. I can push the headunit down in the dash and hook the iPad up to the headunit via Bluetooth. And then mount the iPad up behind the bezel with some tape or some make shift brackets

All that's used to mount it is double sided tape. Airbag light was moved but not really needed

From what I've seen the guy moved the factory unit deeper in the dash. He used the factory headunit. I don't have the factory headunit. I also don't have the steering wheel controls hooked up. I need to get the stuff to hook steering wheel controls up, then I can move the headunit into the dash and put the iPad in place.

Definitely the more economical option.

The very top of the bezel has a passenger airbag light. Luckily enough it just unscrews! I can make 3 small tabs to go into those holes that will hold the iPad nice and firm and use some tape on the bottom or make some brackets for the bottom as well. Then a 90° lightning cable and see if that hooked up to my headunit will charge the iPad. It won't charge my iPhone 6 Plus.
