So if it's 12 inches from the battery only that little 12 inches is live and the rest is dead when the fuse is blown. Ground wire also short as possible and same size as your power wire. Amps are incredibly simple to install. Tuning on the other hand is rather difficult at times. I tune them all now with a multi meter. I started on my audio in my truck probably when I was 17. 21 now and I just finished it and have it set up. Although I would like to swap my mids and highs amp as well as speakers to have all matching alpine. But I'm not messing with it anymore. Sounds cleaner and louder than a lot of the junk the local audio places put out. It's loud and clean I can crank my head unit up all the way and I get no distortion, it screams. Not saying I have the best setup in the world because I don't. But I'm happy with it.

What is the remote wire for the amp hooked up to? do you have it hooked up to the power antenna wire on the back of the radio? Or to the constant 12v power of the amp?
The fuse was separate from the power wire so that is what I soldered together. The amp came with a controller so I just hooked it up and ran the wire into my dash so I could pace it where I wanted to. The ground and the power are the same size wire and I just stuck the wire that powers the amp on in the radio fuse in the fuse box.

Take the amp that turns the amp on out of the fuse and connect it to the blue amp turn on wire on the back of the radio. Also called power antenna wire. That will turn the amp on.

When it gets warmer I will reroute all of my wires so they are running down the middle of the cab under the rubber mat stuff that I have instead carpet. That is when I will do that.

Actually, the power antenna wire only comes on with the tuner ( solid blue ). The remote turn on ( blue with white stripe ) is what you want. If there isn't one then you hook up to the acc power

Some lower end decks use the same wire and then the antenna wire will be hot whenever the deck is on

Is it alright to put the wire in the fuse though?

It's really not the best to put any wire in the fuse. I never recommend it. It would be best to go to the deck

Alright. It was kind of a temporary thing anyway

I'm about to finally have a system again. Going in my Escape though. I'm so anxious and also not looking forward to all the work. Lol

I hear you. When i was installing in the ranger, it felt like forever getting it all installed. Between pulling seats, drilling, wiring, soldering, etc etc.. It took me about a week.

So awesome when its done though, you saved the labor costs, and you know its done right.

I'm going all out too. Putting a roof basket with LED light bar, running all new wiring for the speakers, probably about 60 square feet of sound deadening, new door speakers, 5 channel amp, sub, deck, etc.
And I've got a weeklong road trip/vacation right after. Gonna be a bitch

IMO shitty brand. I've seen very few last more than a year unfortunately. Mostly the amp outs mess up or quit working. Also seen them just stop turning on one day lol
