The only thing is, I need a 12 that can handle 400watts and has a single 4 ohm voice coil. My class D amp is only 4 ohms stable when bridged. Of course, I also want to get a tweet amp so I can finally run the DEH80PRS active. Decisions decisions...
plenty of 12s that can handle that lol

Oh I know thats minor power handling lol. It seems the hardest part is finding a single 4 ohm voice coil. PLENTY of dual voice coil 2 ohmers out there.

I have found some of course...

You could run the tweeters off the headunit only.

I could. I have considered this, but there were a few reasons I chose not to:

1) Having the internal amplifier on supposedly introduces noise at the preouts.
2) THD is significantly higher using the internal amplifer as opposed to using a dedicated external amplifier. As I understand it, THD in the upper frequencies are most liable to cause ear fatigue.
3) Unsure if the DEH80PRS can do level adjustments on the internal amplifier when set in network mode. I would think so, but I dont want to reconfigure everything just to find out.

Im keeping my eyes open for a good small class ab or class d amp that can be used for tweets. Then all I need is a distro block, some rca cables, and to run 2 more sets of speaker wire. And of course the stuff for the new sub...

I plan to run HAT Imagine 6.5 mids and the 12" sub off the class d amp I have mounted under the passenger seat, then use the tweet amp for the Imagine tweets. 3 way active, 400 wrms at 12" driver in a ~1 cu/ft box, ~95wrms at each mid, and then a tweeter amp under the driver seat or center console. Should be more than enough stereo for me..

This page posted the old Mclaren jeep that was all vocals. I honestly want to slap people. Between them calling them subs and saying that their aplines are louder to this

You are correct. Turning off the internal amp and running the head passive is alot better for all involved. Never use class d for highs. Alot more circuitry noise than ab.

Ok, Ill get a small 2 channel class AB amp for the tweets. I think my class D is fine for the mids and the sub.

class D will work for the mids. Not as sq as others. I have a taramps hd800 on mine and they sound great but I have a lot of tuning capability through the HU. Going to be getting an A/B here soon

Well my new sundown 6.5 co-axials have been ordered.

Full nuthug in effect soon, LOL.

This zv4 is too loud though, might go up to 2 ohm wiring on this amp gain some efficiency back and still have 1kw on tap for a couple of new sd-3's or something and keep the same rms power match going.

That and not planning another electrical upgrade (dropping to 13.1v now) will be nice.
