Well I don't know that much about car audio lol but my buddy does and he recommended Rockford and that exact sub to me for what I listen to. I'm not looking to flex my windows or to piss off the neighbors lol I'm just looking to get the best sound I can without spending too much.

I would try to find a local dealer that would be willing to look around or at least bring it in for you, that way as long as it's new it'll be under warranty regardless of how old

I mean they sound good. Don't get me wrong. For like rock and pop/rap but they don't play lows to well. Like below 38hz which to me is the best part of the song. But yeah. One of those in a truck is fine. My friend has 2 Rockford shallows in his 4 door Tacoma and the notes it plays are super loud . But my sundown e8v3 will play lower about 10x louder

I just put a sundown ev8 v3 in a .6ft3 ported box in my truck. Didn't really lose any room and it sounds excellent. I am most impressed with it. The little speaker hits hard and plays notes very accurately. I'm pushing it with a jl 250/1 @ 2 ohms. I like it a lot

Most people agree rock metal pop country sounds best with a sealed sub system and rap hophop etc sounds best with a ported sub system that is tuned for the sub and at a certain frequency. Some subs work best in sealed enclosures, some subs work best in ported enclosures, some are middle of the road. Most shallow subs are for sealed enclosures only. As for the subs that work best in ported enclosures, some will do better in higher tuned enclosures, some will do better in lower tuned enclosures. Better manufacturers will have the info you need for the best decisions regarding applications.

Lol it was a joke man. It was a relatively non specific post, whereas you usually dive into a lot more detail regarding speakers and boxes. Not trying to rustle your jimmies.
