This is your Kicker subwoofer. The yellow stitching gives it away. It is a normal Kicker Comp, and it handles 150 watts RMS. This is the 4 ohm model. Yours might be the 2 ohm model, but it is still the same.

They are very good speakers.

Probably going to grab two sets for the Explorer soon and if I like them a lot I'll grab a set of them for the Ranger.

I have a 4 channel shitbird Planet Audio amp a friend of mine gave me, so I'll just run them on that until I get a better amp. And probably just use that amp in the Ranger. Those Premiers and my P3 Shallow 12 should sound pretty good together.

Those are well known for their sound quality when properly EQ'd and setup with good source material. They will handle more than their rated 60 watts RMS when given a good clean signal highpassed around 120 hz. I wouldn't be afraid to give them 100 watts RMS each, as so. They are not really made for low power like from only a headunit. They really shine with at least 50 watts RMS from a high-power outboard Class AB amplifier.

Let me know the model number of that amp and I will try to come up with a good number for setting the gain with for those speakers. You need a clean 1000 hz test tone and a DMM (digital multimeter).

What amp are you powering the P3 with ? Is it the DVC 2 ohm or DVC 4 ohm model ? Sealed enclosure ?

I'll get you a model number when I get home from work. I'll hit my 40 hours for the week. Tomorrow after I work 2 hours.

I had the P3 bridged on a Rockford Fosgate 200.2, but sold it to a friend so he could power his 6x9s. I don't have an amp for it. What do you recommend for it? And I'm almost positive it's the 4 ohm, and yes sealed enclosure.

My P3 is sitting in my bedroom along with my L7s and amp for that. The box split after I had to break the seal to rewire inside it. The P3 going back in the Ranger is a long term thing. Needs other things done before I can buy a new amp.

You need an amp capable of 400 watts RMS @ 2 ohms, if the sub is DVC 4 ohm. If you go with the ported setup, you need an amp with a variable subsonic filter. MTX looks good. A subsonic filter can also clean up a sealed setup and make it more efficient.

Enclosure Compatibility

Sealed Box Volume: The sealed box size range recommended by Rockford Fosgate is 0.60 to 1.20 cubic feet. Within this range, the ideal recommended size is 1.0 cubic feet, resulting in a 3dB down point of 40 Hz and a Qtc of 1.01.
Vented Box Volume: The vented box size recommended by Rockford Fosgate is 1.25 cubic feet. One 4" diameter x 12" long port should be used, resulting in a tuning frequency of 42.5 Hz and a 3dB down point of 34 Hz.

Forgot to mention that the P3 is in the built to specs Rockford Fosgate sealed enclosure, and I don't really plan on switching it into a different box. I'll definitely be checking out amps at some point. You're a genius, man.

Those are all good sub amps but you might find a better deal elsewhere, if they have the same level of customer service and warranty.

Sure. Really, any amp that will do a legit 400 watts RMS into 2 ohms (if your sub is DVC 4 ohm) will work. Some cheap amps might claim 2000 watts and not actually do 200 watts RMS. Let me know if you need any more help like with setup or gain setting, etc.

Gotta love the Rockford fosgate shows when people bring said amps in and are proven dumb. Lol

If I was to upgrade my sub, to something of a higher quality but can still provide a high quality bass in the box that I made custom for my truck, what would the recommendations be? 10" because I'm not making another box right now. Gotta wait until March.
