DD is working on a sub that fixes this problem. Can't wait to see it.

I'd like to see more 8" choices out there, and sorry for the typos in the last post, I was a bit sleepy. There is only so much you can do with 8s, and I just dont see a 2.5" coil working for them

Haven't been on here in a while do to the fact I got rid of my ranger, but looking at the audio knowledge on this forum compared to others keeps me coming back. I had a decent setup in my ranger ( 2 12"P3's in a custom ported box on 900rms ) and now with my new truck I'm really missing he bass. Not looking for anything crazy, just a nice single 10"-12" to but in a small sealed box under the back seat of my sierra ext cab. I have been looking at the Rockford PS3 shallow 12" because it only requires a 1 cubic foot box and if I run a normal sub it has no room to flex and will be against the bottom of the seat, looking to pair it on a Rockford amp . Unless you guys have any other suggestions?

With that being said, would you recommend I build the box to fire up into the bottom of the seat or build a down fire box? Sealed or ported?

I have a kicker l5 10in on a ported box and it hits pretty hard. You should go with a l7

I had a 12" L5 in my ranger at one point, didn't mind it but after have my Rockford setup I'm would like to stick with them. Performed flawlessly and sounded better than any other system I had in my ranger

Go with another Rockford then I have been wanting to upgrade to a Rockford t1 or a L7 for awhile now.. but I really like my kicker so I might stick with it. What wattage are you pushing?

The P3 shallow is rated at 400rms

What year is your Sierra? If you can avoid a shallow sub I would. I use 8" subs all the time instead of 10" or 12" shallows with much better results. As a matter of fact, I just did a pair of 6" DD subs in a new body F-150 that turned out much better than the shallow 10" the client came in asking for.

I had a JL w1 10" in my 2000 Silverado with a 500watt mono block Alpine amp. I personally thought it sounded realy good. Wasnt any kinda cab flex ornanuthing like that but it rounded off the sound inside with the stock speakers and eclipse head unit. And it fit perfectly in the box it came in under the back seat. You honestly couldn't even see it.

It's a 2013 ext cab Z71, I was thinking 2 8's but I use the area under the back seat for storage. I wanted to stay away from shallow subs, but I only have about a 4" mounting depth max to leave me with enough room so the sub won't touch the bottom of the seat

Some of the newer trucks have space behind the back seat. Do the new silverados?

rockford all the way!!! I would go with the ported box firing out towards the fronts seats if its under the back seats

Here's a picture, with the P3 shallow I would only need a 1.3 cubic foot ported box so I can still keep it plenty small enough to keep the storage I want under the rear seat. I'm also goin to be ordering a leveling kit and some 285/75/r17's for it to give it the stance I want

The sundown audio sa8v2 needs even less space and would probably sound 10x better.

That's also an option, didn't even think of looking at sundown but I have seen some crazy setups with sa8's
