Let us know how you like those speakers and how much power they are getting and how they are EQ'd, crossovered, etc. A friend wants me to install these in his -

I found one for iPhone 4s/5, but can't find anywhere that says what to use with it.

Love it ! Are those 10's or 12's ? Ported or sealed ?/QUOTE]

Thanks man!. They're 10's and It's ported out the end on the drivers side. I'm really pleased with it. It's the fist box I ever built. I can't take all the glory for it though, my uncle who runs an audio shop with the tuning of it.

That speaker is one step above mine, and mine is crazy nice. I have had this exact set up, minus the speakers in 2 other vehicles (mazda protege and gmc jimmy), and it sounds the best yet. Running a Kenwoood 8405 4 channel amp to power them, only at 60 rms tho.
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-yrTwWS6...-KAC-8405.html

That said, my sub amp is a 5 channel, running only at about 250-300rms bridged so my system is not that powerful. In other words go for it.

I thot I had spent like an hour once upon a time typing explicit instructions for your specific system ? Was that not you ? I need to know make and model of headunit and amp(s).

An O-Scope would be ideal, but they cost thousands $$$$.

Rest of my set up, I want to eliminate the big sub and get something a tad bit more powerful but that won't take up the whole back area.

You can make some feet and lay it upside down like a false floor. Cheap and easy...just a thought

I'd probably get a 15 in a ported box that takes just half of the back.

First one... pretty shitty and would not recommend. 10" Kicker CVT shallow-mount powered by a Visonik 400W RMS amp. Also had the Kicker DS68 door speakers, which were craptacular. Had the cheapest Sony HU I could buy new too, which didn't help things too much.

Then I upgaded to two Boston Acoustic G110 10" subs powered by a Massive Audio NX2. Loved the subs and the amp, but the box was just too small so SQ suffered. That, and it wasn't as loud as I wanted it to be. I amplified what were then some 6x8" Infinity Reference door speakers with a Kicker 4-ch amp. These were OK, but were too bright for my tastes. I added some cheap 3.5" PowerBass speakers just cause... they are actually not bad for what they are. A new Sony head unit with a 7-band EQ and better filters that had iPod capability also greatly improved the system.

Right now she's gutted, with a chair from a generous Explorer to replace the crappy Ranger flip-down console. The console is going to be full-length and will feature a Boston Acoustics SPG-555 powered by a Kenwood Excelon XR-1S. The Kicker 4-ch amp remains but now powers four Boston Acoustics SC85's. These are much better than the Infinitys I had before, with more warmth and less screeching from the high-end. Some might also notice the shifter was also modified... I cut out a 1.5" section from it and re-welded it back together. The result was a truck that was much more fun to drive!

Progress as of now:

And oh yeah, I'll be rockin dat CB too.

Well yyeah the ds68 speakers are walmart's econo grade. I have the ks68s and in my opinion the highs are nice and clear. I donnt have the best system out there but i know i can feel the bass and clean music. If i had more room i would of gotten a full size sub. A sub in a reg cab ranger is diffiult to select. I do not want to lose leg roomm in driver or pass. Im no midget. If i was a midget who cares about losing leg room. Its all about what works with u. Later.

Well the box was a little small but nothing else would really fit because of the center arm rest. And I've heard that sub in some proper enclosures and I am so glad I didn't invest any further into it. Too punchy and it had no lows. The Boston Acoustics G110 subs took care of the punchy-ness and had magnificent SQ, but it was yet again in a box that was too small, even with some if my clever tricks to expand air space, and the low range suffered. That, and they weren't all too loud, just mediocre.

The SPG-555, however, will be in a properly-spaced box and the output will be AWESOME!

Here's a story:

I was in BestBuy yesterday checking out the audio section and a guy comes in the area I was. I had been trying out some Polk components and all the sudden he says "I recommend Kicker over whatever that other stuff is" talking about the Polk components and Alpine coaxials right next to some Kicker speakers. I nearly facepalmed right there in front of him, and for a while I had no reply because what the heck do you say to that?? Then I said..

"ok."

People these days...

I would have straight up laughed in his face and then reported him to his superior for being such an idiot.

OK maybe not the second part but I would have laughed hard and loud at that if they legitimately meant that.
