I've decided on what to get a while back, now it's just a matter of getting it haha. It's in my signature, a Hifonics.

Why are you always hating on caps? I've put them in multiple vehicles with stock charging systems and I'll say with 100% confidence that they absolutely make a difference. Is it the best option? No. But, they are not worthless.

1600 wattts rms out from that amp i highhly doubt it highlyy doubt it. Maybe just maybe at a one half ohm load and a massive fan blowing at the amp and high output alternator maybe then ill believe it on an expensive sub

----------

Hey buddy which screwss u used to mount the ccap and do thosse sccrews stick out outside the cab?

To me, caps are just "bandaids". If your lights dim, it means you need to upgrade electrical. While caps can help solve this, once you get over 2000 watts its not worth it. It'd be better to just solve the problem by getting batteries/alt and be done with it. but yeah nothing wrong with a good cap for your particular setup. But as a heads up, my bro had that cap and when he took it off it sounded a lot louder, so he either had a faulty one or most likely it was just suck quality.

I'll jump on my soapbox for a second here about capacitors...

Copied and pasted this from a capacitor discussion we had a while back on another board:

A capacitor dispenses it's energy the voltage usually drops. But if a car's electrical can handle the load and keep voltage up, let's say 14.4V, then even if it stayed at 14.4V and he had a 11F capacitor for a 5500W amp and if it pulls 500A even of current then he could run use it for approx. .32 or 1/3 seconds. IIRC a cap charge is Q = C * V. So assuming it's 500W RMS per 1F which is usually about right, one would need an 11F capacitor for 5500W of power. If voltage stays at 14.4V and doesn't drain, then Q = 11F * 14.4V. That would mean Q = 158.4 coulombs. 158.4coulombs divided by the the current draw of 500A would be the time it would take for the capacitor to disscharge, or .3168 seconds. This is all assuming voltage stays at 14.4V.

If you do the math it comes out to 33 farad PER SECOND to run 5500w, or roughly 8.25 farad per 1400w per second.

The cap is making it to were I dont have to run my sub off my battery and it eliminates dimming of the headlights whenever you are hitting hard. The boss amp that I have I want to say its more like 800 RMS with a peak of 1600, and the pioneer sub I know is an RMS of 1000 but with a peak of up to 3500 if you want to believe that or not hahaha.
I must say though this sub hits as low as a 15" sub and is much much more loud, I would definitely recommend this sub and amp combo for anyone out there.

Its def not 1600 watts rms haha but I just used a couple half inch screws and screwed it onto the plastic back wall which all it has in it is a bunch of insulation.

Better picture of amp. I ended up putting the sub upright as well.
Cheers!

Never ever go by 'peak' or 'max' wattage specs. RMS or continuous specs only. Also, especially in car and home audio equipment - You get what you pay for !

I was given the amp by a co-worker of mine so luckily I didn't need to buy it, I bought the sub on sale for $100 and the box for $30 all on amazon.com hahaa I was on a tight budget for sure.

The cap does have a volt meter.

The Champion subs are actually pretty decent. I've never been a fan of Pioneer subs, but these I've been impressed with. Very solid sounding.
