More than likely it's a poor quality fuse holder. Had the same issue on my truck a few weeks ago for my air compressors. Was just a shitty quality fuse holder, put on a nice tsunami fuse holder with copper lugs and haven't had an issue yet. And I have 4gauge wire running two 2 viair 440's that pull around 20 amps a piece.

The wiring is all sky high.

That's fine for that. You shouldn't need any bigger wire.
I have never ran more than 4 gauge in any vehicle.
I'm running two amps in my ranger with no issues other than some dimming.
Check your grounds and hopefully they are 4 gauge too.

I am now on tapatalk lol. Going bigger will more than likely not help your situation. Sounds like a bad ground. I would definitely redo it and see if it fixes it.

I removed my audio....my truck has a bad ground or something somewhere. It has went into engine fail safe mode a few times and I've had other electrical problems...sent my cab1600 into protect. Seems to be ok though. I'll have to check soon. Can't figure out what's wrong with the truck.

I'll check and possibly move the ground tomorrow. Also I'll look at removing and replacing the fuse holder

Finally about to pull the trigger on getting some new subs and building a box. Are the e3 series sundowns good subs? Also gonna get a good amp and want to make sure it will get the best out of the subs so any good amp that's a decent price let me know I'm gonna start shopping soon. May even do all new door speakers while I'm at it

Yea all sundown subs are good. I have one E8 in a ported box in my truck. Pushed by an American bass phantom. Lovely combo. For under 230 dollars American

Sundown e series is a great budget sub.

You guys always say that about the sundowns so I'm going to give them a shot and try something different than JL. definitely gonna do 2 12s and get box as close to spec as possible. I'm quite excited for it to be honest lol and also gonna try a ported box vs enclosed like I have now

I'm kind of curious of how two 15s would sound in the right box

Loud. If your interested I'd also look at skar audio. I used to have a vvx15 and I have 2 vd10s now. I love the skar products. They are virtually the same as sundown. The 2 original owners of sundown split up. 1 keeping sundown and the other making skar. Skar is cheaper than sundown and same quality.

Gotta correct you here. The owner of skar (I forget his name) never had part in sundown. Jacob/sundown helped him design one of his first subs. Skars quality is also a little lower than sundowns and the customer service is what usually gets people. Been lots of complaints of the owner being shady.

One 12" in the right box is plenty loud enough. I have a power acoustik mofo122x wired to 1 ohm being pushed by an old hifonics brz 1200.1. At Penn State football tailgates, there is plenty of volume.

I built a box for my friend and hooked up his 2 15" square kickers when I was in highschool. They were only getting around 600watts each but were they loud!
